Role Overview
To support our commercial expansion in the DEL services, we are seeking an Associate Director of Business Development with a large experience in drug discovery (DD) activities in pharmaceutical companies, and more particularly in managing DD programs / studies that leverage on DEL capabilities. Reporting directly to the SVP, BD & Marketing, you will actively contribute to expanding our client portfolio in the US, Europe and APAC areas.
Missions
- Own the full sales cycle (identification, acquisition, implementation, expansion, and renewal).
- Elaborate DEL-based driven DD programs, and craft alliances with pharmaceutical discovery departments to run them.
- Identify new opportunities by establishing collaboration with investment funds, startup studios, clusters…
- Maintain and develop high level of expertise in DEL and drug discovery and utilize this knowledge to drive business and address customers’ needs. Promote and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Work with operational resources within NovAliX to meet customer needs.
- Understand and appropriately communicate the NovAliX offer to our clients. Maintain account awareness and evolving market knowledge.
- Work with CRM databases on a timely basis to enrich NovAliX’ customer knowledge, track business and develop new opportunities.
Your Profile
- Scientific background: A PhD in biology, pharmacology or medicinal chemistry is required - combined with an MBA would be a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience (pharmaceutical companies or CRO). Initial experience in sales, business development is required.
- Drug discovery knowledge: Knowledge in DEL programs and services is mandatory. High level knowledge of all the steps in the drug development process and management of several drug discovery programs.
- Market knowledge: Good understanding of the commercial environment within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.
- Prospecting expertise: Strong drive to engage with new clients, build connections, and bring in business opportunities.
- Team player: Collaborative by nature, and thrive in a team-oriented environment where you can work closely with scientific and commercial teams to deliver the best results
- Goal-driven mindset: You are motivated by achieving commercial goals with a strong focus on prospecting activities.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in French and English is required.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently across world.
